Job summary

The Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the dietary department and ensure residents receive excellent meal service. You will supervise dietary aides, work with the dietician, and ensure policy-compliant operations in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a related field
• Industrial/commercial kitchen experience preferred
• Able to read, write, and understand English
• Dependable, adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
• Work hours include alternate Saturdays and Sundays

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dietary Supervisor to join our dynamic team at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury. As a Dietary Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the dietary department and ensuring that our residents receive exceptional meal service.

About the Role:

As a Dietary Supervisor, you will supervise dietary aides, ensure tray line accuracy, and work closely with our dietician to implement recommended changes. You will also be responsible for following established policies and procedures, serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance, and assisting in daily or scheduled cleaning duties. Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise dietary aides
• Check tray line accuracy
• Work with the facility's dietician as necessary
• Ensure all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Assist in serving meals, as necessary, and on a timely basis
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties
• Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed
• Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area
• Return clean utensils to proper storage areas
• Wash and clean utensils as directed
• Carry out garbage and keep work areas, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
• Check and correct as needed, food items/production items prior to service on line
• Assist cook in preparing meals
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary
• Obtain food supplies for next meal
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas
• Serve food in dining room as instructed
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures
• Remove food trays from carts, dining rooms, etc., and take to dishwashing area
• Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• One to two years of supervisory experience in a related field
• Prior industrial/commercial kitchen experience preferred
• Able to read, write, and understand English
• Dependable, adaptable to change, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work hours include alternate Saturdays and Sundays

Compensation:

• Rate will be commensurate with experience $18-$21/HR
