Job summary

Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, NY is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the dietary department, ensure high-quality meal service, food safety, and resident-focused dining experiences.

This full-time role offers a 37.5-hour week, 8:30 am–4:30 pm schedule, and $19/hour, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to quality improvements in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; food service program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in food service; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and team development abilities.
• Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary operations.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dietary staff and assist with training, mentoring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee tray line operations, dining room service, and meal delivery to ensure timely and high-quality service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection control practices, and facility policies.
• Monitor food, beverage, and equipment temperatures and address any variances promptly.
• Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, audits, and departmental documentation.
• Ensure proper food storage, quality control, and safe equipment operation.
• Support orientation and development of newly hired staff members.
• Serve as Food Service Director in their absence and assist with departmental leadership as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.

Dietary Supervisor
Rate: $19/hour
Shift: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Food Service Program preferred
• Minimum experience requirement: 1 year working in food service; 6 months of food service supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service abilities
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and dietary operations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Adaptable, dependable, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities
