Job summary

Southtowns Care Center in Buffalo, NY is seeking a full-time Dietary Supervisor to assist the Food Service Director in creating high quality meals and delivering a meaningful dining experience for residents in a long-term skilled nursing facility.

The role includes supervising kitchen staff, menu planning, maintaining records, and ensuring food safety standards. The position offers competitive pay, full benefits, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of food service experience in a hospital, long-term care, or senior services setting.
  • Knowledge of state and federal food-handling regulations; Serve Safe Certification.
  • Ability to work with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist the Food Service Staff with meal preparation based on menus, regulations, policies and best practices.
  • Solicit resident feedback on meals and implement improvements.
  • Assist with menu planning.
  • Maintain accurate meal documentation records.
  • Help with cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Participate in resident care conferences as assigned.
  • Assist cooks with meal production as needed.
  • Coordinate and plan food preparation for special events.
  • Supervise storage and care of food and supplies.
  • Oversee cleaning of kitchen, storage and dining areas and equipment.

Job description

Southtowns Care Center is seeking a full time Dietary Supervisor. The Dietary Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Food Service Director in the creation of high quality meals and the delivering of a meaningful dining experience for clients in our long term skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and assisting the Food Service Staff with meal preparation based on established menus, regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Regularly soliciting client feedback and incorporating solutions regarding the quality and satisfaction of meals served.
  • Assist with menu planning.
  • Maintain and monitor accurate meal documentation records per established procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Participate in resident care conferences as assigned.
  • Assists cook with the production of meals for service, as required.
  • Coordinates and plans food preparation activities for special events.
  • Supervises the storage & care of food and supplies.
  • Oversees the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, & dining areas, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess, as a minimum a high school or equivalent education.
  • One (1) year food service experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting.
  • Knowledge of state and federal food-handling and kitchen regulations (Serve Safe Certification). Must possess knowledge of food service operations.
  • Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public.
