Job summary

HMR Veterans Services in Amarillo, TX is seeking a dedicated Dietary Staff member to assist with all dietary functions under the guidance of the facility dietitian, ensuring meals meet established guidelines and quality standards.

This on-site, full-time role requires teamwork with interdepartmental staff, accurate portion control, and adherence to health and safety policies while supporting residents and preparing meals and snacks. Join a mission that matters and help serve America's Veterans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Follow oral and written instructions; maintain cleanliness, safety and order in food service areas.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, and a positive attitude with residents and others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the facility dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Maintain effective communication with interdepartmental staff to ensure quality food service.
• Prepare and serve meals on time, following portion control and dietary guidelines; assist with special meals and snacks.
• Set up and clean dining areas, trays, and carts; wash and store utensils and equipment properly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food storage, prep, and service areas; follow all health and safety protocols.
• Monitor food inventory, assist with deliveries, substitutions, and report issues or recommend improvements to the Dietary Manager.
