Job summary

HMR Veterans Services seeks a dedicated Dietary Staff member to support meal preparation and service for veterans in an on-site setting. You will work with the facility dietitian and fellow staff to implement dietary guidelines, ensure timely meals, and maintain clean, sanitary areas in a respectful, team-oriented environment.

You will follow established policies, participate in food safety practices, and assist with inventory and special meals as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Willingness to follow dietary policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the facility dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Maintain effective communication with interdepartmental staff to ensure quality food service.
• Prepare and serve meals on time, following portion control and dietary guidelines; assist with special meals and snacks.
• Set up and clean dining areas, trays, and carts; wash and store utensils and equipment properly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food storage, prep, and service areas; follow all health and safety protocols.
• Monitor food inventory, assist with deliveries, substitutions, and report issues or recommend improvements to the Dietary Manager.
