Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center in Sioux Center, IA is seeking a Supervising Food Service Leader. The role oversees patient food production, service, and nutritional care, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and ethical directives.

The position requires ServSafe certification, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and prior hospital dietary service experience. You will manage scheduling, training, and staff development while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Supervises daily food production, service and nutrition care.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and when to refer to Dietitians.
• Experience supervising food service staff and cooks.

Responsibilities

• Inventories, orders, and stores food ingredients per HACCP guidelines.
• Maintains quality by evaluating finished products and ensuring only quality items are served.
• Schedules production staff and monitors cafeteria cash handling.
• Hires, trains, and evaluates staff; provides coaching and performance feedback.
• Ensures safety with proper use of food service chemicals and labeling.
