Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, SD, seeks a Nutrition Services Supervisor to organize, direct, and evaluate the department in line with federal, state, and local standards. You will oversee purchasing, inventory, and staff scheduling to meet productivity and ensure qualified staff.

Responsibilities include supervising food production, orienting employees, ensuring safety and sanitation, and participating in surveys and inspections.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent required.
• ServSafe Certificate required or enrolled within 12 months of hire; additional certifications CDM, CFPP within 2 years.
• One year of food service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care for population served in the department.
• Orders and receives all department food materials and supplies following purchasing guidelines; maintains appropriate levels.
• Monitors cleaning and sanitation of food production work areas to comply with regulatory standards.
• Assumes authority and accountability of food preparation and ensures dietary procedures follow policy.
• Participates in facility surveys and inspections.
• Responsible for staff scheduling to meet productivity and ensure sufficient staff with appropriate competencies.
• Follows safety regulations in equipment use including fire protection and infection control.
• Interviews, hires, develops, trains, retains employees; plans, assigns, leads work; appraises performance; rewards and coaches employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Education

High School or GED Equivalent

ServSafe Certificate - National Restaurant Association or enrolled in the course within 12 months of hire date; Upon Hire and Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) - Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals within 2 Years
