Job summary

Alameda Center is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the food services team and ensure quality meals for residents, staff, and visitors. The role reports to the Food Service Director and assists in planning and supervising diet-related activities.

The position requires Food Service Certification; an Associate degree is preferred. Evening shift is 11:30 AM–7:30 PM with alternating weekends; benefits include health insurance, 401(k), PTO, and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic principles of dietetic, food sanitation and service.
• Familiar with large-scale purchases and preparation of food, food and labor laws, and with accepted food service techniques.
• Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Basic computer skills.
• Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Ensures responsibility for the quality and quantity of food served.
• Adheres to all sanitary regulations governing handling and serving of food.
• Oversees that meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Investigates trends and developments in dietary practices and evaluates their adaptability to dietary programs.
• Develops, revises, and adapts work techniques and methods for more efficient operation of unit and for training employees.
• Prepares and serves food in accordance with national standards and administrative policies within budget allowances.
• Maintains accurate records and reports.
• Offers input to the Food Service Director during performance appraisals and disciplinary processes for dietary staff.
• Ensures residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring atmosphere.
• Performs other duties including cooking.
