Job summary

Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a Dietary Service Manager to lead the dietary department across nursing communities. You will oversee daily operations, including meal preparation, service, sanitation, and staffing, while ensuring meals meet physician orders and individual dietary plans.

You will supervise, coach, and support the dietary team to deliver quality service. The role requires a State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course and, ideally, Certified Food Protection Manager and

Qualifications

• Documented completion of State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course.
• Certified Food Protection Manager and ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in quantity food preparation and service; training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparations, service, sanitation, and staffing.
• Ensure residents receive nutritious meals that meet physicians' orders, dietary restrictions, and individualized care plans.
• Supervise, coach, and support dietary team members to promote quality service and teamwork.
• Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and cost controls to ensure efficient department operations.
• Collaborate with department teams to support resident nutritional needs and satisfaction.
