Job summary

Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a Dietary Service Manager to oversee daily operations of the dietary department across our skilled nursing communities. You will supervise staff, ensure meals meet physicians' orders and dietary plans, and partner with care teams to support resident nutrition.

Qualifications

• State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course completed.
• Experience in healthcare dietary setting is a plus.
• Willingness to complete training in Food, Safety, Sanitation, and Modified Diets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparations, service, sanitation, and staffing.
• Ensure residents receive nutritious meals that meet physicians' orders, dietary restrictions, and individualized care plans.
• Supervise, coach, and support dietary team members to promote quality service and teamwork.
• Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and cost controls to ensure efficient department operations.
• Collaborate with department teams to support resident nutritional needs and satisfaction.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparations, service, sanitation, and staffing
• Ensure residents receive nutritious meals that meet physicians' orders, dietary restrictions, and individualized care plans

Qualifications:

• Documented completion of State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course.

• Certified Food Protection Manager and ServSafe® Certification preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food, Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting a plus!
