Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred
• CDM certification with the Dietary Manager’s Association preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in nutritional care and assessments; gather data for care plans.
• Staff the dietary department: scheduling, budgeting hours, hiring and training.
• Evaluate and terminate employees as needed.
• Communicate payroll and department finances to the office manager.
• Purchase, receive and store food and supplies; maintain budget.
• Enforce sanitation standards and cleaning schedules.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Maintain dietary department records (menus, recipes, diet cards, rosters).
• Adhere to facility policies, Resident’s Rights, infection control and safety.
• Coordinate meals for events; plan substitutions for residents.
• Attend in-services and seminars; represent the department professionally.
