Role Description

This full-time, on‑site Certified Dietary Manager role is based in the Mobile Metropolitan Area and supports nutrition and food service operations within long‑term care and rehabilitative settings. The Certified Dietary Manager will oversee daily food service activities, including menu planning, meal preparation, and service to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines, resident care plans, and regulatory standards. The role includes supervising dietary staff, coordinating scheduling and training, monitoring food safety and sanitation practices, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. The Dietary Manager will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support person-centered nutrition care, participate in care conferences, and respond to resident needs and preferences. The position also involves monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, supporting cost-effective operations, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives related to dietary services.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Dietetics and Nutrition to support individualized meal planning and evidence‑based dietary care.


• Candidates should possess skills in Food Preparation and Food Service to manage daily kitchen operations, meal production, and service quality.


• Candidates should possess skills in Food & Beverage management to oversee ordering, inventory control, and cost-effective use of resources.


• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential or eligibility, with knowledge of long‑term care and rehabilitation dietary regulations.


• Understanding of infection control, food safety standards, and state and federal regulatory requirements for healthcare food service.


• Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.


• Experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or rehabilitation settings is preferred; familiarity with person-centered care models is beneficial.


• High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education in nutrition, dietetics, hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
