Job summary

EverTrue is seeking a Dietary Aide to support dining services in our skilled nursing and memory care residents. You will assist residents with meals, help with setup and cleanup, and ensure foods are served at proper temperatures while following dietary restrictions.

The role requires basic cooking skills, sanitation knowledge, and the ability to read recipes and diet orders. Vaccination requirements may apply based on local regulations and county health rules.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of dietary aide experience.
  • Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, and resident preferences.
  • Willingness to receive required vaccines per county health regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with food and beverage choices while meeting dietary restrictions/orders.
  • Prepare meals, beverages, and other food items; ensure proper temperatures and timely service.
  • Set up dining rooms for meal service and tidy dining areas.
  • Help with cleaning duties: bussing tables, washing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness of dining areas.
  • Record food temperatures, usage, and waste in HACCP logs; report hazards per policy.

In this work environment, all team members are part of a community and appreciated by the people they work with – residents and coworkers – every day.SummaryThe Dietary Aide performs a variety of dining service functions in serving and maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized conditions of kitchen, dining areas, facilities, and equipment within the skilled nursing and assisted living memory care residential areas; May assist in some aspects of food preparationResponsibilitiesAssists residents with making appropriate food and beverage choices while ensuring options offered meet their dietary restrictions/orders, including being attentive to food allergies and sensitivitiesPerforms defined work routines using various dining service utensils, supplies, and equipment as assignedAssists with all aspects of dining service set-up, including preparing meals, beverages, and other food items, ensuring all foods are served at proper temperatures and on timePrepares dining room(s) for next meal service; Sets tables, refills condiments, washes and folds clothing protectorsAssists with all aspects of clean-up to ensure all dining service areas are maintained in accordance with policies and standards by completing daily cleaning duties, bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, removing trash, stocking and storing items correctly, and keeping all dining service work areas cleanFollows all safety procedures and protocols as mandated by EverTrue policy, federal and state regulations, and standard food handling practices and reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediatelyMaintains all necessary documentation, including checking and recording food temperatures in HACCP logs, recording product usage and waste amounts, and recording any other information neededFollows infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, food storage, food disposal, and wearing protective clothing and equipment when handling waste and cleaning agentsQualifications, Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.One year of dietary aide experience preferredBasic cooking skills and willingness to learnKnowledge of sanitation and safety guidelinesAbility to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignmentsWillingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptionsMust be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family membersMust have or be willing to receive a recognized food safety handling certification in accordance with local or county regulationsMust have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County (in accordance with County health regulations)Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsThe physical activities and demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
