Position Summary

The Dietary Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the successful operation of Dining Services. This includes preparing meals, managing staffing, food ordering, menu planning, food delivery, sanitation, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The Director ensures client and customer satisfaction with efficient, cost-effective management, and helps maintain a positive environment for residents.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervise and assign duties to food service staff, with full accountability for the department.
• Maintain equipment and work areas, adhere to safety and sanitation procedures, and control food costs and inventory.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion.
• Participate in hiring, training, and scheduling staff, including managing time-off requests and disciplinary actions.
• Enforce policies and evaluate employee performance.
• Conduct dietary QA audits quarterly.
• Plan menus in coordination with medical staff, ensuring meals meet dietary needs and are prepared safely and attractively.
• Ensure excellent customer service for residents and visitors.
• Prioritize resident safety and satisfaction, and ensure staff attend required trainings.
• Participate in community events and maintain compliance with regulations regarding residents’ rights.
