Job summary

Eden Valley Care Center in Soledad, CA is seeking a dedicated Cook for a full-time temporary position. You will assist in all food functions, prepare meals according to planned menus, ensure proper portion control, and follow established dietary requirements and safety procedures.

This role requires working with the facility’s dietitian, coordinating with other departments, maintaining clean, organized work areas, and supporting meal service for residents.

Qualifications

• Combination of education, training and experience that produces the requisite knowledge and ability.
• Direct experience as a supervisor in this role or related field.
• Knowledge of sanitary food-handling and kitchen safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Complete necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes as required.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and storage areas.
