Job summary

Intersect Healthcare is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in a food and nutrition setting. The Cook will follow federal, state, and local guidelines, ensuring quality, safety, and nutritional accuracy in every meal.

The role requires attention to sanitary policies, ability to follow standardized recipes, and cooperation with dietary management to meet resident dietary needs and therapeutic diets when applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months paid quantity food preparation and working with recipes of at least 25-50 servings.
• Formal or on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, estimating quantities of food needed, storing food supplies, general kitchen management and principles and requirements of sanitation and safety.
• Prefer some knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various food items.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Director of Food Services.
• Assures staff compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Review menus prior to preparation.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures.
