Job summary

HEIGHT STREET SKILLED CARE, a skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield, is hiring a full-time Dietary Cook. The role is to prepare meals according to applicable federal, state, local standards and facility policies, under the supervision of the Dietary Director.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, inspecting diet trays, coordinating with other departments, processing diet changes, and maintaining food service standards. AM and PM shifts are available for this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Ability to follow and complete directions and tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Must have a Food Handlers Card.

• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Process administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms and reports for submission to the Dietary Director.
• Coordinate Dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's Dietary Director as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Departments.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel to assure proper food service for residents.

HEIGHT STREET SKILLED CARE, A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY IN BAKERSFIELD IS HIRING A (FULL-TIME) DIETARY COOK.

The primary purpose of your job position is to prePare food in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by Director of Food Services and/or Administrator, to assure that quality food service is provided as all times.

Shift: Full Time (4 days on 2 days off rotating schedule)
