Job summary

PACS is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor in a hospital or long-term care setting.

You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure sanitation, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include supervising staff in the supervisor's absence, recording temperatures, and assisting with meal service while maintaining compliance with dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in large quantities per menus.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen.
• Prepare special diets and record food temperatures.
• Assist with serving meals and supervising in absence of Dietary Supervisor.
• Train dietary staff and ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
