Job summary

St. Francis Healthcare Center is hiring a part-time Dietary Cook to join our dietary team and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents according to approved menus and dietary requirements.

The successful candidate will follow food safety procedures, maintain high quality and presentation, and work collaboratively with staff to ensure excellent resident service. Prior healthcare food service experience is preferred and a Food Handler’s certification is required.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and special dietary instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow residents’ prescribed diets, food preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Store, label, and rotate food and supplies properly.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate needs to the Dietary Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with meal service and other dietary duties as needed.
• Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident service.

St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. The Dietary Cook will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while following established menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow residents’ prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure food is served at the proper temperature.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
