Job summary

St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a part-time Dietary Cook to prepare meals per approved menus and dietary plans. You will work with dietary staff to ensure safe food handling, proper portions, and timely meal service for residents in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe handling.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and dietary instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets and special dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and serve at correct temperatures.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation and infection control procedures.

• Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments to serve residents.

Position: Dietary Cook

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.

• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary requirements.

• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure food is served at the proper temperature.

• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.

• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.

• Assist with meal service and other dietary duties as needed.

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident service.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
