Job summary

The McKendree in Nashville is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our Dietary Department. You will prepare meals, supervise dietary functions, and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our residents through nutritious, visually appealing dishes.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or strong English literacy, prior culinary experience, and knowledge of large-quantity cooking, diets, and waste minimization. Join a team that prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or ability to read/write English.
• Previous culinary experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of portioning, diets, cooking times and temperatures should be demonstrated.
• Ability to estimate food quantities and minimize waste while preparing appealing meals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the manager.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of meals, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Assist with tray service and cleanliness to maintain an organized kitchen.
• Keep accurate records as directed to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate food and supply requirements and follow special diet orders.
