Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in healthcare, long-term care, or food service preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Dependable with a good attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, including modified textures and therapeutic diets.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with health department regulations.
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and tray line as needed.
• Monitor food temperatures and proper storage of all items.
• Work with Dietary Manager and clinical staff on resident dietary needs.
• Maintain accurate production and sanitation records.
• Ensure timely meal service to residents.
