St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our dietary team.

You will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in keeping with menus, dietary requirements, and safety standards. In this full-time role, you will follow recipes, handle food safely, and work closely with staff to ensure high-quality service and resident satisfaction while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and special dietary instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Food Handler's certification as required by applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure food is served at the proper temperature.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
• Monitor food inventory and notify the Dietary Supervisor of needed supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with meal service and other dietary duties as needed.
• Follow all facility policies and applicable healthcare and food service regulations.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to ensure excellent resident service.
