A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COOK

As a Cook at River Oaks of Minnesota, you play an important role in the health and well-being of our residents by preparing nutritious, appetizing meals in accordance with physician orders, dietary needs, and food safety standards. Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing and serving meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Maintaining proper food temperatures and ensuring all food is prepared and stored according to sanitation and food safety guidelines.
• Setting up and cleaning the dining room while providing friendly, courteous service to residents.
• Washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.
• Assisting with meal preparation for future meals, stocking supplies, and notifying management when inventory is running low.
• Supporting residents' nutritional well-being while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and welcoming dining experience.
• Working collaboratively with the care team to provide exceptional service and support the mission of River Oaks of Minnesota.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COOK

• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background check
• Passion for preparing quality meals and serving individuals with physical and mental health challenges

Preferred but not required:

• Previous food service or cooking experience
• Experience working in healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Food Service or ServSafe certification
