Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is hiring a Dietary Cook to join our dining team. Pay starts at $15-16/hr depending on experience and is determined by the hiring manager during an interview.

The Cook will review menus, inspect diet trays, complete required reports, coordinate with Dietician staff, and help ensure meals meet nutritional standards and service goals. This role requires collaboration with multiple departments and adherence to facility policies to deliver high-quality dining for residents.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested
• Cooks are supervised by the Dietary Manager
