Job summary

Vancrest Health Care Centers is hiring a Dietary Cook. Responsibilities include reviewing menus before meal prep, inspecting diet trays for accuracy, and coordinating dietary service with Nursing and Dietician staff to implement approved changes.

You will also handle administrative forms, production line setup for timely meals, and ongoing dishwashing, cleaning, and inventory tasks to support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to meal preparation.

• Complete administrative forms and reports for the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments.
• Work with Dietician and Supervisors to implement changes as needed.
• Ensure dietary procedures follow established policies.
• Help establish food service production lines to meet mealtimes.
• Process diet changes as directed by Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning; ensure utensils are available for the next meal.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.

Job description

Pay starts at $15-16/hr depending on experience and is determined by the hiring manager during an interview.
Dietary Cook
Cook Responsibilities Include

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested
• Cooks are supervised by the Dietary Manager
