Job summary

Midtown Assisted Living Residence is seeking a skilled Dietary Cook to join our culinary team. In this role you will prepare and serve high-quality meals for residents in a fast-paced setting, while ensuring dietary needs are met and quality standards are upheld.

You will coordinate menus, train cooks, and supervise kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the shift. A formal culinary program and English proficiency are required for success.

Qualifications

3+ years in-line cooking in a medium to high-volume restaurant (100+ people)
3+ years supervising a minimum of 5 employees
Formal culinary training completed
Able to read, write, speak and understand English

Responsibilities

Coordinate menus and direct the training of cooks and kitchen staff.
Prepare meals, desserts, and snacks per the posted menu and follow dietary requirements.
Serve meals that are palatable and presentable.
Keep the work area clean, organized, sanitized, and document activities.
Estimate and prepare food supplies to meet serving portions.
Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful work environment.
Attend and participate in continuing educational programs
