Job summary

Shippenville Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in a long-term care setting. You will follow established menus, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support inventory and budgeting efforts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (culinary certification preferred) and 1+ year of experience in food service, with the ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree or certification preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a food service or culinary role; healthcare experience a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to menus and recipes for residents.
• Maintain clean, organized kitchen areas adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
• Assist with food ordering, inventory management, and budgeting.
• Collaborate with culinary team to develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas.
• Provide exceptional service to residents and staff, ensuring satisfaction with food service.
