Job summary

Valencia Hills Center for Rehabilitation & Healing in Lakeland, FL is hiring a Dietary Cook to provide safe, high-quality meals for residents while adhering to dietary guidelines and cost-efficient practices.

You will prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, manage supplies, and coordinate production with serving times. This role requires at least 1 year of related experience and knowledge of health rules. A Florida AHCA background check is required.

Qualifications

• The Dietary Cook role requires knowledge of food safety and proper kitchen sanitation procedures.
• Experience with meal planning and portion control is preferred.
• Familiarity with resident dietary needs and state guidelines is a plus.
• Ability to follow physicians’ and nutritionists’ dietary recommendations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff according to safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and proper storage of foods.
• Determine food and supply needs for daily menus and coordinating with production schedules.
• Plan production to ensure meals meet serving hours and quality standards.
• Assist in cleaning duties following sanitary standards.

Dietary Cook Job Summary:

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and providing food services to residents in a cost-efficient manner to safely meet residents’ need in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

• Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician’s/nutritionists’ dietary recommendations
• Maintain high standard of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control
• Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved
• Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards

Dietary Cook Other Duties:

• Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary.
• Represents the facility at and participates in meetings as required
• Assists in standardizing work methods.
• As the job description may not be all-inclusive, the employee is expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.

Dietary Cook:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
• Knowledge of Department of Health Rules and Regulations
• At Least 1 Year Experience in a Related Position Required
