Job summary

CareCore at Lakeridge seeks a reliable Cook to join our dietary team, playing a key role in delivering quality meals and a positive dining experience for residents. You will prepare and cook meals under planned menus, ensure safe handling and storage, and collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to support resident care.

Ideal candidates have cooking experience, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and a focus on food safety.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required, healthcare or LTC preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets (mechanical soft, purees, etc.) preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and food safety standards.
• Reliable and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure food is prepared, served, and stored safely.
• Follow all sanitation and infection control standards.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required logs.
• Assist with kitchen organization, cleaning, and inventory.
• Work collaboratively with dietary team and nursing staff.
