Job summary

Garden Healthcare is seeking a Cook for a Skilled Nursing Facility for the afternoon shift on a part-time basis. The role includes preparing and serving meals, maintaining sanitation, handling inventory, and ensuring dietary compliance.

The incumbent will meet special dietary needs and can prepare texture-modified foods as directed. Responsibilities include supporting the dietary staff in the absence of the dietary manager and ensuring accuracy in records and daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with interruptions; good motor coordination and dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals; maintain sanitation of food service areas.
• Maintain accurate records, inventory, and receipt/rotation of products; regulatory compliance.
• Meet special dietary needs and textures as directed; assist in dietary staff in the manager's absence.

COOK FOR SKILLED NURSING FACILITY AFTERNOON SHIFT PART TIME. POSITION INCLUDING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

Ideal Candidate:

Will be responsible for the preparation and serving of meals, sanitation of food service areas, accurate records keeping, receiving, rotating and inventory of products, and regulatory compliance. As a key member of the Dietary Department, ensure all special dietary needs are met with the ability to prepare texture modification food as directed. Consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality. Assumes

responsibility for the dietary staff in the absence of the dietary manager.

Qualifications/Experience

• High School graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Show a willingness to perform, routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability is necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals as well as good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and cleaning work areas.
• 1 year experience working as a Cook in Skilled Nursing/Senior Living Preferred.
