Forest Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carlisle, PA is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to prepare meals for residents according to approved menus and dietary restrictions. You will work closely with the Dietary Manager to balance nutrition, portion control, and appealing presentation while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook in a nursing home or healthcare facility is preferred.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets.
• Strong culinary skills and a genuine enthusiasm for preparing appetizing, healthful meals.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Effective organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes, portion control, and specific dietary restrictions.
• Ensure that the quality, presentation, and taste of meals meet the highest standards.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to plan and create well-balanced and nutritious menus.
• Maintain proper inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.
• Uphold a clean and organized kitchen environment while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Be responsive to special dietary requests or restrictions as necessary.
• Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff as required.
