Job summary

Generations Healthcare near Smith Ranch Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook to support our residents in San Rafael, CA. Shifts include AM and PM with weekend/holiday rotation.

The role focuses on preparing meals, ensuring correct diets, and coordinating with the dietitian and other departments. You will follow established food policies, maintain sanitation, and contribute to a compassionate, safe dining environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must maintain sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of food service areas.
• Must seek out new methods and incorporate them into practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure correct diets.
• Complete necessary administrative forms, reports, and submit to Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility’s dietitian and implement changes as required.
• Ensure all food procedures follow established policies.

Job Description

The primary role of the Dietary Cook is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

• Shifts: AM: 5:30-2pm, PM: 12:30-9pm.
• All employees work weekends and holidays on a rotation basis.

Essential Duties

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
