Job summary

CareOne in Newton, MA is seeking a Cook for per diem and part-time shifts. The Cook will prepare meals in accordance with standards, assist leadership, and ensure quality service in our long term care, short term rehab, and skilled nursing facilities.

The role requires ability to cook in large quantities and strong English communication. Experience in dietary settings is preferred; healthcare benefits and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility is preferred.
• Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Strong customer service skills are expected.

Shifts Available: Per Diem & Part Time
Compensation: Minimum $20/hr – Maximum $28/hr (based on experience, qualifications, credentials, employment status, and work schedule)

The Cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Services, to ensure quality food service at all times.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility (preferred)
• Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language
