Lionstone Healthcare in Loveland, OH is seeking a dedicated Cook to support our dietary team. You will prepare meals according to planned menus, serve with proper portions, and assist with daily food-service operations in a resident-focused environment.

You will collaborate with the dietitian, ensure safety and sanitation, manage supplies for meals, and contribute to resident well-being by delivering nutritious, appetizing dishes.

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and guests.
• Maintain care and use of supplies and keep work areas orderly.
• Minimize waste of supplies and prevent equipment misuse.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to food preparation.
• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diets are served.
• Complete necessary forms and reports as required.
• Coordinate food service with other departments.
• Work with the dietitian to implement changes.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus.
• Serve meals with proper portions.
• Prepare foods for therapeutic diets as planned.
• Provide bedtime snacks.
• Follow sanitary regulations and safety policies.
• Assist in inventory and storage of supplies.
• Suggest equipment and supply needs to the Dietary Director.

Responsibilities

Administrative Functions

• Review menus prior to preparation of food

• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident

• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc.

• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary

• Work with the Facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required

Food Service Functions

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus

• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance

• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures

• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus

• Prepare and provide bedtime snacks

Safety and Sanitation

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures

• Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel

• Follow established Infection Control Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

Equipment and Supply Functions

• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available

• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc.

• Recommend to the Dietary Director the equipment and supply needs of the department

Resident Rights

• Honor the resident's refusal of treatment request

• Abide by the resident's participation in treatment decision

• Inform the resident of consequences of not participating in prescribed therapy and document such action in the resident's clinical record

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies or personnel, and the general public

• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas

• Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
