Lionstone Healthcare is seeking a Cook to prepare meals according to planned menus, ensuring taste, appearance, and portion control. You will collaborate with dietitians and other departments to support therapeutic diets and resident well-being.

The role emphasizes food safety, sanitation, and accurate documentation, with opportunities for growth and a team-focused, respectful work environment.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Review menus and ensure accurate meal preparation.
• Inspect dietary trays to meet resident diet requirements.
• Complete forms and reports as required.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as needed.
• Collaborate with the facility's dietitian to implement recommendations.
• Prepare meals per planned menus and ensure appetizing presentation.
• Serve meals with proper portion control and accommodate therapeutic diets.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards at all times.
• Assist with inventory and storage of food and supplies.
• Support resident rights and document care decisions.

Responsibilities

Administrative Functions

• Review menus prior to preparation of food

• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident

• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc.

• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary

• Work with the Facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required

Food Service Functions

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus

• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance

• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures

• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus

• Prepare and provide bedtime snacks

Safety and Sanitation

• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures

• Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel

• Follow established Infection Control Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks

Equipment and Supply Functions

• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available

• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc.

• Recommend to the Dietary Director the equipment and supply needs of the department

Resident Rights

• Honor the resident's refusal of treatment request

• Abide by the resident's participation in treatment decision

• Inform the resident of consequences of not participating in prescribed therapy and document such action in the resident's clinical record

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies or personnel, and the general public

• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas

• Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
