Job summary

Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our dietary team and help maintain the smooth running of the kitchen and dining room. You will prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring special dietary needs are met and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service preferred.

Dietary Cook – Essential Functions:

• Prepare and serve meals to residents

• Ensure special dietary needs are met and prepare texture-modified food as directed

• Follow food safety, sanitation, record-keeping, and risk management requirements

• Maintain clean dining and kitchen areas and dishes

• Follow color coding, tray cards, abbreviations, and therapeutic menus

• Maintain kitchen equipment and appliances

• Attend mandatory in-services, educational trainings, and department meetings

Dietary Cook Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents

• Ability to read

• Food service experience preferred

• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
