Job summary

Luxor Healthcare seeks a Dietary Cook for Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center to support our dietary team. You will prepare and serve meals for residents, accommodate special diets, and maintain safe, sanitary kitchen and dining areas.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to residents.
• Ensure special dietary needs are met and prepare texture-modified food as directed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, record-keeping, and risk management requirements.
• Maintain clean dining and kitchen areas and dishes.
• Follow color coding, tray cards, abbreviations, and therapeutic menus.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend mandatory in-services, educational trainings, and department meetings.

Dietary Cook – Essential Functions:

• Prepare and serve meals to residents
