Job summary

St. Elizabeth's Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a Vierra Communities property, seeks a motivated Dietary Assistant Supervisor to lead in creating a safe, comfortable home for residents.

This full-time, non-exempt role supports menu planning, dietary services, and nutrition while upholding standards for quality, safety, and service with a team that values growth and excellent customer care.

Qualifications

• Experience in long term care or sub-acute settings preferred.
• Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident interaction and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Follows standards and procedures for preparing food.
• Participates in menu planning including resident preferences and therapeutic diets.
• Inspects meals for appearance, palatability, temperature and timing.
• Assists with budget and purchasing of food and supplies.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
• Oversees safe and timely meal preparation according to care plans.
• Monitors regular and therapeutic diets and textures as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Follows standards and procedures for preparing food.
• Participates in menu planning including responding to resident preferences, substitution lists, therapeutic diets, and industry trends.
• Inspects meals and ensures that standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times are met. Ensures that foods are prepared according to production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes.
• Assists with the budget and purchasing of food and supplies, and food preparation, services, and storage.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
• Overseeing safe and timely meal preparation, including the provision of meals and/or supplementsin accordance with residents’ needs, preferences, and care plan.
• Monitors regular and therapeutic diets, including texture of foods and liquids to meet the specialized needs of residents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in long term care and/or sub-acute setting preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting
• Hands on knowledge and experience with dietary equipment
• Written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interact positively with residents, other personnel and the public
• Good communication, interpersonal skills organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work effectively with a team
• Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
• People management and staff development
