Job summary

The Homestead at Montrose is seeking a friendly, compassionate Dietary Assistant to join our Montrose, CO campus. This on-site, part-time PRN role involves assisting in food prep, serving meals, and keeping kitchen areas clean while following established dietary procedures.

You will support residents with dignity and safety in a caring environment. Pay range is $18.62–$21.03 per hour, with shift times 6am-2:30pm or 11:30pm-6:30pm.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Attends required in‑services and completes assigned online modules.
• Follows reporting procedures for observed resident concerns, supply and equipment needs, damaged or unsafe equipment.

Pay Range: $18.62 - $21.03 per hour, based on experience and status!

• Follows reporting procedures for the following:
  • Observed resident concerns.
  • Supply and equipment needs.
  • Damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning equipment.
  • Conditions related to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin.
