Job summary

Grace Cottage Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist the dietitian in providing the right nutrition to patients. You will help organize and prepare meals, keep the kitchen clean and safe, and ensure compliance with safety rules and dietary requirements.

You will collaborate with the Dietary Director, dietitians, and other departments as needed. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, English proficiency, and the ability to follow recipes.

Qualifications

• Education/ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience in Food Safety desired, but not necessary. ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training or willingness to get certified in a food safety program.
• Other Requirements: Minimum 18 years of age and be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to follow standardized recipes. Ability to calculate fluid restrictions, carbohydrate counting and diet modifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains food safety standards according to state and federal regulations.
• May provide training and orientation of new staff, as needed.
• Interacts with and shares information with others accurately and positively.
• Promotes a cohesive work environment through sensitivity and constructive criticism.
• Participates in monthly staff meetings/in-services and other committees as appropriate.
• Organizes and prepares food production needs for patients, staff and functions.
• Ensures safety and sanitation of the kitchen and maintains quality control.
