We are seeking a Part Time Dietary Aide to join our team!

Hospital Details

SKY REHAB, located in Bowling Green, KY, is a 60-bed inpatient rehab providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly environment where you really get to know your patients and their families. SKY Rehab Hospital is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for various services and specialty programs, including Inpatient Rehabilitation (Adults, Adolescents, and Children), Brain Injury Specialty Program (Adults), and Stroke Specialty Program (Adults). It is also accredited by The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

1. Performs duties necessary for the operation of the food service department, including preparing food items, assembling patient trays, tray line assembly, delivering trays, and serving in the cafeteria.
2. Responsible for cleaning in the kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing.
3. Performs cashiering duties in the cafeteria as needed.
4. Accepts delivery of dietary supplies, inspects products for freshness and accuracy, and assists in food storage and rotation, monitoring food expiration dates.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two (2) years of experience as a dietary aide may be considered in lieu of education.
• Food handling certification as required by State regulations.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Six (6) months of previous food service experience preferred, especially in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Proficiency with computer and software applications relevant to job functions.
• Clean drug and alcohol history, free from illegal use.
