Job summary

WAVERLYHILLS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support our kitchen operations, learn the food service routine quickly, and assist with meal trays and dishwashing duties.

The role requires packing and stocking groceries, cleaning surfaces, and helping maintain a sanitary kitchen environment, under the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to read procedures and follow recipes, cooperate with staff, and obtain a food handlers certificate.

Qualifications

• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
