Job summary

Bangs is hiring a Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation and service in a hospital or care facility environment. You will learn food service routines quickly, set up meal trays, operate the dishwasher, and help with cleaning and sanitation.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a food handlers' certificate, with ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk frequently. Training and team cooperation with dietary staff are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher temperatures during cycles and operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen; clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Carry out trash disposal and safe storage of groceries.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
