Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen operations and meal service in our facility. You will learn the food service routines quickly, set up meal trays, and assist with dishwashing, serving meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen under supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring dishwashing temperatures, preparing snacks, and helping with general kitchen sanitation. A high school diploma is required and a food handlers’ certificate must be obtained.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow technical procedures.
• Able to read and follow recipes accurately.
• Able to present information clearly to managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and orderly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and assist the cook/dietary supervisor.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
