Job summary

Autumnwind is seeking a dietary aide to support kitchen operations, assist cooks and dietary staff, and ensure clean, sanitary food service areas. You will learn routines quickly and help with meals, dishwashing, and stocking.

This role emphasizes safety, following recipes, and reading procedures. A high school diploma and a food handlers' certificate are required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work harmoniously with other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher equipment as required.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen areas.
• Carry out trash and garbage disposal.
• Store groceries safely and orderly.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and assist cook or supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators; sweep and mop floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing dietary staff training.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
