Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical tasks.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow written or diagram instructions.
• Physical ability to perform duties with standing, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly and assist cooks and supervisors.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Operate dishwasher and monitor water temperatures.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks; sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash, reset groceries, and maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Cooperate with personnel across departments.
