Job summary

Highland Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time cook to prepare nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for residents, following Federal, State, and Corporate requirements. Duties include supervising staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services and attending meetings as needed.

Excellent verbal communication and English reading/writing skills are required, with a basic understanding of cleanliness, organization, and safety.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The cook prepares, in a timely manner, nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for all residents according to Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
• Performs duties in a safe and sanitary manner.
• The cook supervises staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
