Job summary

Pine Meadows Post Acute is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure safety and sanitation.

The role requires reading procedures and cooperating with staff across departments. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of cooking experience in a hospital or long-term care facility, and a valid ServSafe certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge of PCC preferred.
• Must stay in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, clean, sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow menus and portion controls; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain sanitizer buckets; assist with serving meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses; assist training.
• Present food appealingly; supervise when needed.
• Follow cleaning schedules; supervisory duties in supervisory absence.
