Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a part-time food service assistant to prepare and plate meals for patients and staff. You will stock pantries, manage inventory, and ensure accurate temperature records for safety. You’ll deliver trays to patients using proper ID protocols and maintain clean, organized workstations.

The role requires basic math, strong customer service, and proficiency with MS Office. Prior food service experience in healthcare is preferred, with a Louisiana Fort Lauderdale

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills and able to communicate in English.
• Good customer service skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Physical ability to perform designated job required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble hot and cold meals following recipes to ensure quality.
• Stock, rotate, and sanitize nursing pantries and bulk nourishments; maintain inventory records.
• Serve meals on tray lines; record temperatures and deliver trays with proper ID protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, floors, and equipment; use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Operate dishroom and café registers; process transactions and monitor sanitation logs.

Job Description:

Prepare and assemble hot and cold food items, including beverages, following standardized recipes and production requirements to ensure quality and consistency. Stock, rotate, and sanitize nursing pantries and bulk nourishments, maintaining accurate inventory records and billing documentation. Serve meals on tray lines, record food temperatures, and deliver trays to patients using proper identification protocols and isolation procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, floors, and equipment, using cleaning chemicals safely and effectively according to required concentrations. Operate dishroom equipment and café registers, process transactions accurately, and monitor sanitation logs and temperature records, taking corrective actions as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have basic math skills and able to communicate in English.
• Good customer service skills required.
• Computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ experience in food service experience in hospitality or healthcare industry. [Preferred]
